THEA 285 Theatre History I

A survey of theatre history from the birth of drama in primitive rituals through end of the Nineteenth century as theatre expands throughout Europe, the US, the Americas, and Australia. Studies include the development of neoclassicism, romanticism, melodrama, and the rise of realism and naturalism in dramatic literature and the subsequent development of staging techniques.
