EDRD 521 Content Area Literacy

This course explores current theory, practice, and methods related to content-area literacy. Emphasis will be placed on the use of research-based content literacy teaching methods and diverse strategies in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. Students will develop standards-based activities and lessons based upon complex informational text to promote content literacy for multicultural, multilevel, and multilingual students.
PRQ: Passing score on the Illinois Basic Skills Exam or the Test of Academic Proficiency (TAP) or the ACT Plus Writing/SAT composite
