ANSO 340 Sociology of War

This course seeks to examine the complex interrelationships between war as an historically emergent social institution and society and culture. Among the topics to be studied are socialization for warfare, civil-military relations, war and inequality, war and social change, and the military in a new environment. The course will provide for the selective examination of empirical studies and theories in the areas of social change, social movements, and military sociology.
