EDUC 508 Foundations of Urban Education

Students will examine historical, sociological, and political factors both locally and in a larger context that have led to the structure of today's urban schools. Particular emphasis will be placed on equity as it pertains to attendance, school funding, pedagogy, assessment, standardized testing, classroom management and family involvement.
