HIST 572 Gender and Sexuality in History

This course focuses on theories and narratives of gender and sexuality in history, on how both affect other aspects of culture, society, politics, economics, and on how those aspects in turn inform the natures of gender and sexuality. We will read sources from the past that allow insight into these issues, and the work of scholars making arguments about gender and sexuality in history. Students will write history, drawing on these ideas, and on topics of their own choosing.
