RELG 201 Religion and Politics

One of the founding principles of the United States is the “separation of church and state,” and yet, from the nation’s very beginning, religion and politics have influenced each other. This course will examine the historical development and impact of religious practices and beliefs on public life and critically evaluate the “how” and “why” it persists as a driving force in American society.
