RELG 212 Saints & Sinners: History of Christianity

This course surveys the key events, figures, and themes in the development of Christianity from the time of Jesus to the present day. Students will encounter monks and crusaders, heretics and reformers, popes and abolitionists, and discover Christianity's essential role in shaping human history and the intimate lives of men and women. Particular attention is paid to the cultural, social, and political circumstances that contributed to the extraordinary success of this global religion.
