Special Education Major, B.A. or B.S.
The undergraduate Special Education program prepares teachers to teach students K-22 years of age in special education settings. Students completing the program will have satisfied Rockford University requirements and Illinois State Board of Education licensure requirements leading to a Bachelor of Arts degree or a Bachelor of Science degree in Special Education and a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement. LBS1 endorsement candidates are also eligible for early childhood special education approval upon completion of four additional courses. A grade of C or higher on all education courses is required to complete the program.
