Special Education (LBS1) Endorsement, M.A.T.
The Special Education program prepares teachers to teach students with disabilities from K-22. Students completing the program will have satisfied Rockford University requirements and Illinois State Board of Education licensure requirements leading to a Master of Arts and a Teaching (MAT) degree in Special Education and a Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) endorsement. LBS1 endorsement candidates are eligible for early childhood special education approval upon completing four additional courses. A grade of C or higher on all education courses is required to complete the program.
