Management Studies, B.S.

The Management Studies major prepares students for management and leadership roles through coursework focused on the breadth of business management. Learners will demonstrate content mastery and critical soft skills needed to work and lead in the field. Graduates can work in any field including businesses, not-for-profits, startups, etc.

Outcomes
By the end of the program, students will be able to…

  1. Assess and understand how shifts in global trends and international issues impact business. This proficiency is demonstrated by navigation of business data/news and identification of problems/opportunities within the business environment. [Global Business Analysis]
  2. Utilize their understanding of global business factors to problem-solve complex scenarios across their organizations and industries through the application of learned business research and strategy development. [Global Business Application]
  3. Recognize the need for appropriate business data/metrics, identify relevant data, and effectively communicate practical ideas utilizing that data. In order to demonstrate this, students will support written and verbal communication with relevant data/metrics. [Business Data Literacy]
  4. Demonstrate proficiency in cultural competency and will be equipped with skills and knowledge to navigate and manage cross-cultural interactions. Students will develop a deep understanding of diverse cultures, values, and practices – while understanding their significant impact on business. To demonstrate this knowledge set, students will use case study analysis, reflective essays on cultural experiences, and engage in projects requiring team collaboration. [Cultural Competency]
