SPED 345 SPED Methods for Diverse Learners

This course focuses upon the psychology, identification, and methods of instruction for the exceptional child, including without limitation the learning disabled, and characteristics and methods of instruction for cross-categorical special education students. Topics include the impact of disabilities on cognitive, physical, emotional, social and communication development; differences in students’ approaches to learning; the development of instructional opportunities adapted to diverse learners; the family and community domains in relation to students with special education needs; and how the knowledge of the discipline, students, community and curriculum goals informs the planning and design of instruction Meets N Scheduled Fall and Spring PRQ: NONE
